General Information

Classes in the 2010 Midland Winter Championships Schedule are open to all

Horses and Ponies and their Riders that have qualified to compete at

bona fide qualifying shows

 

Awards and Ages

Trophy to the winner of each class

Rosettes to 6th place

Ages for Riders and Horses / Ponies are as from 1st September 2009

 

Important

The Rules of the Midland Association of Riding Clubs applies in all cases,

it is important that you check the rules for the classes you are entering

 

All Classes will take place in the Indoor or Covered Arena

 

Showjumping - Saturday 13th March 2010

All Classes are run as one round and then all those lying equal first will jump off

Minor placings not decided in the jump off will be decided by time

and faults taken in the first round

 

In the event of there being very large entries then we reserve the right to run

the classes as two phase, ie: one round and if clear straight into the jump off

 

Horses are over 14.2hh and to be ridden by riders 13yrs & over, unless otherwise stated

Ponies are 14.2hh & under and are to be ridden by riders 16yrs & under unless otherwise stated

Class 1 Midland Winter Senior Freshmans Championship

Rider / Horse combination not to have won a 1st Place in any showjumping competition held before the 1st September 2009           Riders 13yrs & over              Fences approx 2’0”

Horses in this competition will not be allowed to enter Classes 10,11, 12

Class 2 Midland Winter Junior Diddymen Championship

Open to all Riders 16yrs & under, Ponies 14.2hh & under

Pony/Rider combination not to have won a 1st Place in any showjumping competition held before the 1st September 2009             Fences approx 2’0”

Ponies in this competition will not be allowed to enter Classes 10, 11, 12

 

Classes 1 & 2 will run together starting at 9.00am prompt

 

Class 3 Midland Winter Very Novice Horse Championship

Open to Horses not to have won 5 1st Places in any Showjumping competitions

held before the 1st September 2009             Fences approx 2’3”

Class 4 Midland Winter 10yrs & under Championship

This Class is open to all Riders 10 Years & under, Ponies 14.2hh & under    
Fences approx 2’3”

 

Classes 3 & 4 will run together

 

Class 5 Midland Winter Young Horse Championship

Open to Horses aged 7 yrs & under, Riders 13yrs & over        Fences approx 2’6”

Class 6 Midland Winter 12yrs & under Championship

This Class is open to all Riders 12 Years & under, Ponies 14.2hh & under       Fences approx 2’6”

 

Classes 5 & 6 will run together

 

Class 7 Midland Winter Mini Open Championship

Open to Horses (Riders 13yrs & over) and Ponies (Riders 16yrs & under)

Fences approx 2’6”                        Awards will be made separately

 

Class 8 Midland Winter Novice Horse Championship

Open to Horses not to have won £100 in prize money, Riders 13yrs & over       Fences approx 2’9”

Class 9 Midland Winter Novice Pony Championship

This Class is open to all Riders 16 Years & under, Ponies 14.2hh & under

Ponies not to have won £100 in prize money          Fences approx 2’9”

 

Classes 8 & 9 will run together

 

Class 10 Midland Winter Small Open Horse Championship

Open to Horses of any grade, Riders 13yrs & over         Fences approx 3’0”

Class 11 Midland Winter Small Open Pony Championship

This Class is open to all Riders 16 Years & under, Ponies 14.2hh & under        Fences approx 3’0”

 

Classes 10 & 11 will run together

 

Class 12 Midland Winter Open Championship

Open to Horses (Riders 13yrs & over) and Ponies (Riders 16yrs & under)

Fences approx 3’3” Awards will be made separately

Riders 17yrs & over, horses over 14.2hh, To be shown with manes plaited, tails plaited or pulled

Class 16 Midland Mountain & Moorland Best Turnout Championship

Open to all Mountain & Moorland Breeds, riders to be appropiate size for the animal. To be shown in natural state with trimming allowed as per the individual breed societies, Lead Reins Accepted, no stallions for lead rein, and lead rein to be attached to cavesson noseband

Open to Riders 17yrs & over that have not won 3 1sts in any Senior Rider Classes up to 1st September 2009. Horses & Ponies must be ridden in a snaffle for all Novice Competitions

In Classes where Adults are allowed to ride ponies (43, 45, 46), the two highest placed Adult Riders will go forward to the Senior Championship in Ring B

 

After Class 46, the first two placed in Classes 13, 35, 39 will go forward to be judged for the 2009 /2010 Midland Winter Lead Rein Champion, the two highest place Lead Rein Riders in other classes may also come forward ie: M&M, Show Hunter Pony, etc

 

Following this, the first two placed in Classes 14, 36, 37, 38, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46 will go forward to be judged for the 2009 /2010 Midland Winter Lead Rein Champion

 

At the end of the day the first two placed from each Championship in all arenas will be judged for the

Midland 2009/2010 Winter Showing Champion

Entry fees to all Classes (Showjumping & Showing) £11.00

There is a charge of £1 per competitor to help cover the cost of First Aid
